Introduction to ABS Granules

ABS granules (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene) are a thermoplastic polymer material characterized by high strength, toughness, and ease of processing. Appearing as a pale yellow solid with a density of 1.04–1.06 g/cm³, the material is resistant to corrosion from acids, alkalis, and salts, as well as to certain organic solvents.

This material is produced through the copolymerization of three monomers-acrylonitrile, butadiene, and styrene-with adjustable composition ratios to tailor its properties: butadiene enhances impact resistance, acrylonitrile improves heat resistance and chemical stability, and styrene boosts flowability and surface gloss. ABS resin is widely used in applications such as home appliance housings, toys (e.g., LEGO bricks), and automotive components. Major manufacturers include Chi Mei Corporation, LG Chem, and Bayer.
