Description
UV Resistant PC/ABS Pellets are a modified engineering plastic alloy. The base formulation contains hindered amine light stabilizers (HALS) and benzotriazole UV absorbers (UVA), or substitutes ASA for part of the ABS and adds nano-scale inorganic UV shielding agents. The material keeps the well-balanced mechanical properties of PC/ABS while gaining long-term resistance to UV aging, addressing the yellowing, chalking and impact-strength loss that standard PC/ABS shows after long outdoor exposure.
Its key advantages are weatherability and mechanical performance. In QUV accelerated weathering tests, color difference stays within ΔE < 3.0, and some grades reach ΔE < 1.8. The material shows no yellowing, cracking or chalking even after long-term direct sunlight. It combines the high strength of PC with the toughness of ABS, giving it excellent impact resistance and low-temperature toughness, with gloss and notched impact strength retention both above 85%. This makes it a good fit for outdoor environments with large day-night temperature differences.
UV Resistant PC/ABS Pellets have a melt flow rate of 17–24 cm³/10min, which makes them suitable for injection molding of thin-walled and complex parts. They can also be used outdoors directly, with no painting or extra UV coating required. For these reasons, they are a key material for outdoor and automotive applications.
This material serves four major sectors: automotive, new energy, security & lighting, and electronics & tools. In the automotive sector, it is used for roof trims, mirror housings, door trim strips, grilles and interior panels that see long-term sun exposure. For new energy and outdoor equipment, typical applications include EV charger housings, PV junction boxes and energy storage enclosures. In security and lighting, it is found in outdoor cameras, LED street light housings and garden lamps. In electronics and tools, it is used for power tools and structural parts for smart devices.
