Description
General purpose PC pellets are conventional, unreinforced PC granules, with a natural color ranging from water-clear to light amber. They are the most basic and most widely used grade in the market.
Unlike flame-retardant, glass-fiber-reinforced, or UV-stabilized grades, general purpose PC wins on transparency, heat resistance, and balanced mechanical strength. It is one of the most versatile and cost-effective members of the engineering plastics family.
General purpose PC pellets covers six sectors: electronics, automotive, optics, construction, medical, and consumer goods. The bulk of volume sits in transparent and safety products-lamp covers, lenses, water containers, helmets, and face shields.
All major suppliers carry their own lines: SABIC's LEXAN, Covestro's Makrolon, and Wanhua's CLARNATE. SABIC LEXAN 121R is the go-to for small, complex, thin-wall parts. A built-in release agent makes demolding easy, and impact strength is excellent, so it shows up in plugs, connectors, charger housings, switch panels, LED lamp covers, and on the 3C side in fast-charging housings, router decorative covers, and precision connector windows. Covestro Makrolon 2405 pairs good transparency with strong impact resistance and easy release, and is common in mobile phone housings, connectors, lighting accessories, appliance housings, and optical parts. Wanhua CLARNATE A1105 balances mechanical and processing performance and fits most naturally in consumer goods and electronics-premium sport bottles, shatter-resistant sports water bottles, heat-resistant baby bottles, smart home device housings, and charger housings. DAPHOON PC 02-10R is transparent with a bluish tint; easy release, aging resistance, good impact strength, and optical performance make it a regular choice for general transparent parts in optics, electronics, automotive, and lighting, and often the cost-effective domestic substitute.
