Description
ABS pellets feature relatively low cost and high cost-performance among similar plastic pellets, so they are widely adopted for household appliance housings and other applications. However, general-purpose ABS pellets are flammable thermoplastics. Products made from them tend to keep burning upon exposure to open flame and fail to meet electrical safety requirements for fire resistance. Modified flame-retardant ABS pellets usually achieve UL94 V-0 rating, perfectly suitable for injection-molded housing components with fire-safety requirements.
Flame-retardant ABS pellets are divided into halogen-free flame-retardant ABS pellets and halogen-containing flame-retardant ABS pellets, with slight differences in performance and cost. We can provide customized solutions according to your specific requirements.
Halogen-containing flame-retardant ABS pellets are mostly used for general consumer electronics and small-home-appliance housings; halogen-free flame-retardant ABS pellets apply to rail transit, electrical components and EU-export-oriented products.

Q: What are the key processing precautions?
A: Pre-dry at 80–85℃ for 2–4 hours to keep moisture content ≤0.05%, so as to avoid silver streaks. The recommended melt temperature is 200–230℃; long-time overheating will cause flame retardant decomposition.
